The Riverside Dance Academy was established in 2002 is is choreographed by Sara Johnson. It gives members, and non members, who have particular talents in this area the opportunity to further enhance their skills through the dedicated training this academy can provide. The Dance Academy primarily trains in street dance but ocassionally has visiting choreographers giving workshops in; jazz, musical theatre, modern, contemporary and tap.

In April 2004, the two groups (early and late) appeared at the Sadlers Wells Theatre and in the Cambridge Festival of Music and Dance. In 2005 and 2009 the senior dance group performed at the Royal Albert Hall in the Centenary Barnardos concert.

In addition Riverside host the dance troupes 'Fracture' and 'Static Crew', who train in hip hop, street and commercial. They enter all major street dance competitions -in October 2010 Fracture won their category at the Euro Disney dance competition! They are currently working towards competing at Alton Towers on 16th - 18th September.
