Led by Artistic Director and professional actor Richard Mann, Riverside offer dedicated drama workshops to craft students acting ability. Workshops include; a warm up, games, concentration exercises, improvisation, text work, physical theatre, mask work and role play. Drawing on practitioners such as David Mamet, Keith Johnston, Peter Barkworth, Peter Brook and Augusto Boal.
There is no audition for the ‘Acting Workshop' but please note that places are strictly limited to 18 students and they have to be aged 13 plus.
Each year the workshop devise and rehearse sketches; for Riverside’s Christmas Cabaret, Student Showcase and Awards Evening. They also work on a production in the summer term. In July 2008 the workshop premiered The Enchanted Labyrinth at Bedfringe (Bedfordshire’s biggest comedy, music and theatre festival). Last year the workshop performed a treastle mask based play High Rising which was set to music.

The Workshop will be devising 2 short performances, one for the christmas cabaret (which is to remain a surprise) and the other as part of the scary guy presentation (which due to the success of High Rising will again be mask based).
13th January - 31st March 2010
No produciton this term. Actor and fight director Martin Craig will be working with the group for a few weeks teaching the basics of stage combat and choreographing a routine with everyone.
21st April - 14th July 2010 (no workshop on 2nd June)
